About us - Coig na Shee, more than a guest house

Coig na Shee offers bed and breakfast accommodation that we'd want to stay in ourselves.

This means getting everything right, and also by paying attention to the smallest detail, such as crisp white

bed linen, huge cosy towels, pampering toiletries, leaf and herbal teas, fresh coffee with a cafetière.

Coig na Shee
It's impossible to be totally sure of the origins of our name, but - thanks to local lore - here's our best shot.
'Shee' derives from 'sithein', Gaelic for 'fairy hill', and 'Coig' means 'five' or a fifth - an ancient way of dividing

up land - Coig na Shee, a ' fifth of a fairy hill'.

Your Hosts
Marion and Graeme are your hosts and proud owners of Coig na Shee. Marion is originally from Edinburgh and Graeme from Brisbane, Australia. Returning to Scotland in 2006 after several years downunder, they found and fell in love with Coig na Shee and the Highlands.

Newtonmore and beyond

Coig na Shee Egg Team

In October 2010 our free range egg production team arrived at Coig na Shee from the Black Isle. Not even snow and freezing temperatures from early December managed to curtail output! Henrietta and her team look forward to making your breakfast experience even more memorable when you come to stay.
