The Cairngorm National Park

Now ten years old, The Cairngorm National Park includes Scotland’s most mountainous area and an incredible landscape that provides a warm welcome for visitors to the area from the residents who live and work here. Enjoy spectacular scenery and an abundance of opportunity to engage in an active lifestyle. In the winter give snow sports a try. You can ski or snowboard at Cairngorm Mountain, Scotland’s premier Snowsports resort which is now serviced by a state-of-the-art funicular system as well as an abundance of drag-lifts and chairlifts. There is also the possibility of trying cross-country skiing should snow permit around the Loch Morlich area. In the summer you can bag a few Munros, explore some trails on a mountain bike or get the miles in on traffic-light roads on your road bike. Alternatively, an array of water sports are available to try: kayaking down river rapids or canoeing gently across lochs. You may just wish to simply relax and enjoy the wildlife, clean air and peaceful nature that surround you.
